Genshin Impact (GI) is an action game developed and published by miHoYo. Genshin Impact was released for PlayStation 4, Android, Windows and iOS in Year 2020, PlayStation 5 in Year 2021, and is scheduled for Nintendo Switch. The game features an anime-style open-world environment and a combat-based system that uses elemental magic and character transformation. Genshin Impact game is free to-play and earns money through a game engine in which players can acquire new characters and weapons. The base game is constantly expanded through patches that use the game as a service model. The game is set in the fantasy world of Teyvat, home to seven nations, each associated with a different element and ruled by a different deity. The story follows the traveler, who travels to many worlds with his twin before being separated from Teyvat. The traveler goes in search of the lost brother with their companion Paimon and gets involved in the affairs of the nations in Teyvat.
Genshin Impact received generally positive reviews, with reviewers praising its combat system and open world, but criticizing its simple endgame and bonus mode. Genshin Impact grossed over $3 billion in its 1st year of release, the highest of any video game, and will top $4 billion by March Year 2022.
The game is an action game in the world that puts the player in control of 1 of 4 interchangeable characters in a party. Allowing the player to use many different combinations of skills and attacks and switching between characters can be done quickly during combat. Actors can upgrade their abilities in various ways, such as increasing the character’s level and improving the character’s artifacts and weapons. Along with research, the player can try different challenges for rewards. Scattered across Teyvat are bosses and challenges that reward useful resources, such as Stormterror and Electro Hypostasis, but claim to use a currency called Resin, which slowly increases as time goes by.
