Doom Eternal is a 1st person shooter game developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. Series of Doom (2016) and the 6th chapter game in the Doom series, was released on March 20, Year 2020 for Stadia, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows and the Nintendo Switch version was released on December 8. , Year 2020 and the version for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 and Series S will be released on June 29, Year 2021. Set shortly after the events of the Year 2016 game, the story follows the Doomslayer once again, serving to stop Hell from devouring the world and foiling the plans of Maykrs aliens.
Along with the single player campaign, a multiplayer mode, Battlemode, was introduced. In this mode, players can play as the Doom Slayer or as a demon, fighting until the Doom Slayer defeats the demons, or vice versa. Horde mode added in October Year 2021. Ancient Gods, a standalone two-part DLC campaign set after the events of the main game, was released between October Year 2020 and March Year 2021.
Doom Eternal received critical acclaim, with praise for its campaign, graphics, level design, soundtrack, and combat system, although some disliked the increased speed and storytelling in its platforming sections. Doom Eternal received five game award nominations for Year 2020, including Game of the Year and Best Action Game.
Players also take on the role of a Doom Slayer who fights against the demons of Hell, from a 1st person perspective. The game continues its predecessor’s emphasis on “progressive” combat, encouraging the player to engage random enemies in order to gain health, ammo and weapons.The player can get different guns, such as Super Shotgun, Combat Rifle, Plasma Rifle, Heavy Cannon, Rocket Launcher, BFG 9000, Chaingun, Ballista and Unmaykr. Melee weapons such as the power sword “Crucible Blade”, the chainsaw, the Sentinel Argent Hammer (Hellbreaker), and the retractable arm blade called the “Doomblade” can also be used.
