Fall Guys is a free to play action royale game developed by Mediatonic. Fall Guys includes up to 60 players who control creatures like candy and compete in a series of randomly selected mini games, such as obstacle course. Players are eliminated as the round progresses until, finally, the last remaining player is crowned the champion. Fall Guys comes from game shows like Takeshi’s Castle, It’s boxing, deleted and sports games like tag and British Bulldog. Devolver Digital released this game for Microsoft PlayStation 4 and Windows on August 4, Year 2020. After acquiring Mediatonic, the publishing rights passed to Epic Games. After that, the game became free to play on June 21, Year 2022 and was released on other platforms including Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PlayStation 5, with full cross-platform game support. As part of the change, the game revamped the Season Pass system for its money, offering players customized avatars.
Fall Guys received positive reviews from critics for its chaotic gameplay and visuals. Fall Guys was a commercial success, selling more than 10M copies and attracting more than 50M people after the game went free. Since the launch of the game, Mediatonic has released many updates for the game. The ninth and current season is an underwater theme.
Up to 60 players compete in a battle royale style showdown. Players, represented by candy-like characters, move around the three-dimensional arena, using other moves such as jumping, grabbing/climbing, or splashing to help hand game. A randomly selected mini-game with randomly selected modes. Some mini-games involve running to the end of survival, the map, and playing with other players, while others add an element of teamwork. In each mini-game, obstacles appear around the map for added complexity. Players who are slow, fail some of the mini-game or fall into the pink slime requirements will be eliminated. In the final round, the few remaining players face off in a final game with mini-games designed for smaller player sizes. The winner of Fall Guys is the last player standing or the 1st to finish.
