Metal: Hellinger is a 1st person rhythmic shooter video game developed by Swedish developer The Outsiders for Microsoft PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. It was published by Funcom and released on September 15, year 2022. Metal: Hellinger game mixes elements of 1st person shooters and rhythm games, including references to the rebooted Doom franchise. As they navigate the demonic game world, players face demonic costumes and are accompanied by heavy metal symbols. Players lose money if their attacks match the music, and other equipment matches the music as the combo meter increases. This meter can be maintained by doing other things, such as tapping and moving, over time. This tone is also reflected in the elements of the environment, such as the fire scene, in what the game calls “the natural life of the universe”. Other challenge levels named Torments can be beaten to unlock coins. Metal: Hellinger game also features a variety of bullet ring types, as well as a large number of projectiles on the battlefield in some battles. Players have high maneuverability, being able to double jump and move forward in the air just like Doom Eternal, and maneuverability is key in these parts of the bullet hell. The game is divided into nine levels of hell (including the tutorial), each of which ends with the boss fighting against the part of the Judge, who is the opponent of the game.
A lost soul named “The Unknown” seeks to regain his stolen voice. He must free himself from his underground prison and fight his way to face the ruler of Hell, Judge Red. He is accompanied by Paz, a speechwriter who acts as the narrator of the game. Determined to prevent his own prophesied doom, the Judge sends the forces of Hell to stop the Unknown.
