About Microsoft Flight Simulator

Microsoft Flight Simulator is a series of flight simulation programs for Mac OS Classic ,MS-DOS, and Microsoft Windows operating systems. It is one of the 1st products in the Microsoft software portfolio and is different from other Microsoft software, which is focused on business. As of November Year 2022, MFS (Microsoft Flight Simulator) is Microsoft’s oldest software product line, predating Windows by 3 years. MFS is one of the longest running PC video game series of all time. Mr Bruce Artwick started the development of Flight Simulator in Year 1977. Mr Bruce sublogic,company,originally distributed it for various personal computers. In Year 1981 Mr Bruce Artwick approached Alan M. Boyd who wanted to create a “clear game” that would clearly show the difference between the old 8 bit computers, like the Apple II, and the new 16 bit computers, like the IBM PC, was still in development. In Year 1982, the Artwick company licensed a version of Flight Simulator for the IBM PC to Microsoft, which sold it as MFS 1.00. In Year 2009, Microsoft closed Aces Game Studio, which was the division responsible for creating and maintaining the FS (Flight Simulator) series. In Year 2014, Dovetail Games acquired the license from Microsoft to port Microsoft’s Flight Simulator X Gold Edition to Steam and published Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition. Microsoft announced a new unit at E3 in Year 2019, called Microsoft Flight Simulator, which will first be released on PC, and will be ported to Xbox Series X at a later date. On July 12, Year 2020 Microsoft opened pre-orders and announced that Microsoft Flight Simulator for PC will be available on August 18, Year 2020. The company announced three different versions of the title – standard, deluxe and deluxe premium, each of which offers additional game features, including airports and flights to choose from. The Xbox edition was released on July 27, Year 2021.
