Neon White is a 1st person shooter game and puzzle platformer game developed by Angel Matrix and published by Annapurna Interactive. Neon White game was released for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch on June 16, year 2022. It was released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on December 13, year 2022.
Designed to focus on fast-paced gameplay, Neon White puts the player in the role of Neon, a demon hunter in paradise, eliminating all demons on a given level in the shortest possible time. Neon White game is a lot of tasks each with different levels. To complete a level, the player must defeat all the demons present and complete the objective, which gives the player experience that can unlock the ability to see more and hidden objects within the level. The player runs and jumps through the level, collecting soul cards lying around in the open or obtained by defeating demons. Soul cards can be used as weapons, and each card has a standard fire type and another special ability that activates by throwing it. For example, a cannon card can be discarded to perform a double jump. Player characters can die if they are damaged by demons or fall into an infinite pit, forcing them to restart the level. Once a player completes a level, they receive a medal based on their time to complete, ranging from Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Ace.
Between levels, players can interact with NPCs on the world map that provide insights and explanations about the game’s story. Players can also interact with NPCs during this part of the game. Moving on to a new mission may also require the player to earn a Neon Rank, reflecting the number of levels at which the player earns a Neon Rank in gold or higher. Players can go back to any previous level to try and get a better time score.
