Red Dead Redemption 2 is a 2018 action and adventure game developed and published by Rockstar Games. The game is the 3rd entry in the Red Dead series and a prequel to the year 2010 game Red Dead Redemption 1. The story is set in year 1899 and follows the persecution of Congressman Arthur Morgan, a member of Van der Linde’s group, in the legendary Western, Midwestern, and Southern United States. Arthur must deal with the fallout of the Old West while trying to survive government forces, rival gangs and other opponents. The game follows team member John Marston, a fan of Red Dead Redemption.
This game is presented in the 1st and 3rd person, the player can recreate himself in his open world. Game elements include gun-fights, hunting, horse riding, interacting with non-player characters, and maintaining a character’s honor level through choices and actions. A scoring system similar to the “wanted” system in the GTA franchise governs the response of law enforcement and bounty hunters to crimes committed by the player. Red Dead Online, an online multiplayer game, allows up to 32 players to participate in a variety of supported and competitive games.
The development of the game spanned more than eight years, starting shortly after the release of Red Dead Redemption, and it became one of the most expensive video games ever made. Rockstar merged all its companies into one big team to make development easier. They took their influence from real places as opposed to movies or art, focusing on creating an accurate impression of the time and the characters of the game and the world. The game was the 1st one Rockstar made for the 8th generation consoles.The game’s soundtrack features an original score composed by Woody Jackson and several vocal tracks produced by Daniel Lanois. The development involves a rigorous schedule of 100 hours per week, resulting in mandatory reports, with no overtime pay.
