Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals has been delayed until year 2023, developer Night School Studio has announced. “To make Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals truly unique and add more territory, we are moving our release window to year 2023,” the developer’s statement reads. “Thank you for your patience, support and understanding. Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals game trailer is very beautiful. We look forward to sharing the game with you. Stay tuned!”
Five years after the events of OXENFREE, Riley returns to his hometown of Camena to investigate mysterious radio signals. What he finds is more than what he does. This is the second major delay that will hit the horror game series of year 2016. The Lost Icon was released in year 2021 and is set to be released later that year. But a few months later, the developers of the game announced its re-release in “early year 2022”. There is no reason for delay other than to ensure that the game is “the experience we think it should be”.
Netflix acquired Night School Studio last year as part of the streaming service’s entry into mobile games, and a few days ago, the streaming service added year 2016’s 1st game to its lineup. The title was originally released for iOS and Android in year 2017, but is now available at no additional cost to Netflix subscribers, without ads or in-app purchases. Set five years after the first game, Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals follows the new protagonist Riley as he returns to his hometown to investigate a mysterious radio signal that is very similar to the first game. Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals game is currently slated for release on Mac, Windows, PlayStation consoles and Nintendo Switch. Although the mobile version does not seem to be an announcement, we will be surprised if it does not end up on iOS and Android and since Netflix is focused on mobile games is the publisher.
