Stray is a year 2022 action game developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive. Stray game story follows a stray cat who stumbles into a walled city inhabited by machines, robots, and mutated bacteria, and begins to make his way back to the surface with the help of his drone companion, B-12. Stray game is presented from a 3rd person perspective. The player traverses the game world by jumping on platforms and climbing obstacles, and can interact with the environment to open new paths. Using B-12, they were able to save the objects found around the world and hack technology to solve the puzzle. In the Stray game, the player has to escape from opposing Zurks and Sentinels, who are trying to kill them. Development started in year 2015, by the founders of BlueTwelve Studio Koola and Viv, who wanted to pursue their own career after working at Ubisoft Montpellier. They partnered with Annapurna Interactive to publish the game. Kowloon Walled City influences the aesthetics of Stray, which the developers say will be thoroughly explored by cats. Stray game was inspired by the cats of the developers, Riggs and Murtaugh, and the team studied photos and videos of cats for research purposes. They found that playing as a cat offered some great level design opportunities, although they encountered challenges in optimizing the design and gameplay. The decision to populate the world in robotic form also affected the storyline and backlash. Stray was announced in year 2020 and is highly anticipated. After some delays, it was released on July 19, year 2022, for Windows, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Stray received generally positive reviews, with praise for its art, gameplay, storytelling, original score, and platforming, although reviews were divided on the combat system. The game won accolades at The Game Awards and the Golden Joystick Awards, and appeared in several year-end magazines. A cat runs down the street and jumps up, metal shutters, over boxes, air conditioners and rooftops surrounded by greenery.
