WWE 2K20 (World Wrestling Entertainment) is a professional wrestling video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. WWE 2K20 was released worldwide on October 22, 2019 for Microsoft PlayStation 4, Windows and Xbox One. WWE 2K20 is the 21 episode in the WWE series, the 7 under the WWE 2K banner, and the successor to WWE 2K19. WWE 2K20 is the 1st game in the series that will not be developed by Yuke, which has produced every entry in the series since its inception in Year 2000. Visual Concepts, which has been working with Yuke as developers since Year 2014, took over as the main studio for the process. WWE 2K20 received mostly negative reviews, with reviewers noting a return to quality from 2K19. The game has gained notoriety in the wrestling and gaming community for its so many launch bugs and other technical problems. In response, 2K will cancel WWE 2K21 and put the series on hiatus for 2 years. The next title, WWE 2K22, was released on March 11, Year 2022.
WWE 2K20’s Showcase 2K mode revolves around WWE’s Four Horsewomen (Bayley, “The Man” Becky Lynch, “The Queen” Charlotte Flair, and “The Boss” Sasha Banks). Players control the unique styles of Bayley, Banks, Lynch and Flair, in 15 matches. The 2K tower mode, first introduced in WWE 2K19, has made a return to the series. WWE 2K20 has a female MyCareer story alongside its male story, a first for 2K. (Previous THQ games had female storylines) The story takes place from March to April Year 2029, where Red and Tre were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as members of the Class of Year 2029, which ended is produced before Wrestlemania 45 in Las Vegas, Nevada (also known in-game as Wrestlemania Year 2029, as a fictionalized version of that year’s event), 11 years after the WWE 2K19 MyCareer storyline ended, as in which, the matches follow the prospects of their careers.
