The King of Fighters XV also known as KOF XV, is a fighting game developed by SNK. The King of Fighters XV was released on February 17, year 2022 for Windows, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X/S. The King of Fighters XV is also the 1st game in the King of Fighters series developed using Unreal Engine 4 and the first to implement the GGPO regeneration network. Set after the events of The King of Fighters XIV, the story centers on two superhuman fighters, Shun and Isla, among other heroes returning to face a resurgent threat. The game has generally received praise for its unique title, multiplayer gameplay, and smooth online gameplay, but criticism for its story style, complex tutorial, and gameplay. Criticism of the players focused on the inability to find the game in a short period of time. The special “Rush” button from King of Fighters XIV appears and has been updated to help newcomers perform combos and special/big moves faster. Shatter Strike is designed to be a defensive move, but can be used offensively when using a save. Destructoid compares Shatter Strike to the fully charged Focus Attack from Street Fighter IV.
